These original shell pants were developed for U.S. troops operating in frigid environments and designed to be worn over multiple insulating layers. Daiki’s reinterpretation retains the functional essence of the original while introducing modern enhancements. The pants retain the essential cargo pants shape through knee pleats. Pass-through pockets initially intended for access to inner layers, have been replaced with fully functional pockets catering to contemporary needs. Removing suspender loops streamlines the design, and adding reinforcement stitching above the seat—a detail borrowed from British Army field pants—adds durability and a distinctive aesthetic.
