Ryan Fenchel @fenchill
Ryan Fenchel’s oil paintings depict idiosyncratic vessels and tableaus that he imagines as part of analchemicalprocess. Using principles of Modernism and esoteric texts, the paintings vibrate between familiar and fantastic. The artist’s regular trips to Japan have informed the aesthetics of his visual decision-making, as has his deep interest in the occult. Fenchel has had solo shows in Chicago, Los Angeles, and Kansas City. He has been included in group exhibitions in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Berlin, Philadelphia and Sarajevo. He’s currently based in Los Angeles.
