OTAKARA NYC, a new brand produced by Nepenthes, launches its debut collection at Nepenthes Los Angeles.
Founded by New York–based hand embroidery artist Satoshi Suzuki, the brand translates personal memories and cultural references into wearable handmade art. The name OTAKARA (“treasure” in Japanese) reflects the hope that each piece becomes something meaningful to its wearer.
The Spring/Summer 2025 collection includes sweatpants inspired by New York’s garment district, T-shirts embroidered with cityscapes and original characters, and bandanas and caps printed with graphical interpretations of landscapes and cultures from both New York and Japan.
Each item expresses the unique, handcrafted spirit of OTAKARA NYC.
